So what do you think?

I love the colors and the mood, even though I think her legs look a little weird.

Overall though, I do think this cover captures the tone of the book very well.

Wanna go to Sin City?

HERE'S THE DEAL:
There are only NINE days left to make a bid/ donation to best-selling author Brenda Novak's juvenile diabetes auction. Her youngest son, Thad, lives with diabetes, so this is a very personal cause for her.

"I appreciate the support of the many people who have come together to make this happen. What an inspiration their generosity has been! In year one, we raised $34,982 that went directly to research. In year two, we nearly doubled that amount at $63,000. This year I was hoping to reach $75,000, but we've already blown past that. We're at $88,000 as of May 16th, so I've readjusted my goal to shoot even higher. I'm now hoping to raise $110,000!"

I've donated a stay in Las Vegas as well as library of writers guides

HERE ARE THE DETAILS:
This donation is dedicated to my parents, later life diabetics both, and especially my mom for always believing in me. To celebrate the October 2007 release of her first single title, author Mia Zachary is donating an autographed copy of her romantic mystery, ANOTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT, for you to read on the plane to Sin City.

Once you get there, she'll treat you to two nights at the Luxor and one of the hottest shows in town (choice of Lance Burton, Danny Gans, The Blueman Group or La Reve), as well as providing two books to help you enjoy your stay: The Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guide to Las Vegas and 1000 Best Casino Gambling Secrets. (Winner must travel between Oct. 1, 2007 and Mar 31, 2008, airfare not included. The room is subject to the hotel's availability and the show tickets are subject to theater blackout dates and dark nights.)

If that sounds good to you then GO AND BID

HERE'S MORE ABOUT THE BOOK:

Available on Amazon!

Even after you're written the manuscript, signed the contracts and cashed the acceptance check, somehow the book isn't 'real' until you see it listed on the Amazon website :)

Here is an excerpt from SPIRIT DANCE, my novella in the Witchy Business anthology, which comes out in September. The jury is still out on the cover, but I guess the art department needed something that would be generic enough for all three stories.

I don't have the artwork for ANOTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT yet, but you can read about it here and then pre-order it here.

Why am I encouraging you to pre-order? Because apparently those count with the bean counters and if the bean counters are happy then the editors might get permission to ask me for a second book. And I love this world and these chacarters and I'd love to write a second book! I'v already come up with several titles...

With Life, sometimes comes change

I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with this blog. I've always felt blogs should be upbeat and fun and informative, but right now I need all of my strength and concentration to focus on whatever is going to happen for me and my son in the future. Without going into details, suffice to say my life style and circumstances are about to be changed. If anyone has any advice on how to be a single Mom without descending into debt and despair, I'm all ears.

AI- Top 12 Results

Okay, color me surprised.

Because while I got my wish and Antonella "looks good in a paper bag but can't sing her way out of it" Barba went home, and while it was a tough choice between Sundance and Sanjaya who I thought both sang badly this week, I would NEVER have believed that Phil Stacy would stay on the show after that god-awful rendition of a LeeAnn Rimes song while Jared Cotter was voted off. And I'm really stunned that Haley "Simon can't remember my name because I'm boring" Scarnato is staying while Sabrina Sloan, a professionally trained vocalist, is going home.

Well, I have to hand it to IDOL because the show definitely hold my interest and is full of surprises. Speaking of which- does anyone else think the "American Idol Gives Back" is a load of self-serving, self-promoting crap? Wow, for two whole shows the sponsors- not the show producers- will donate (you notice they don't say how much) to charity. Since malaria is a much bigger problem than even AIDS, I would have liked to see IDOL make a direct million-dollar donation (less than half of what they charge advertisers) instead of patting themsleves on the back for two days.

On a lighter note.... As for next Tuesday, I'm not sure I can handle two hours of Diana Ross...

Oh who am I kidding? I'll be watching
